NORTHEASTERN OHIO TENNIS ASSOCIATION ORGANIZATION GRANT GUIDELINES

 
PURPOSE OF NEOTA GRANTS: To promote and develop the game of tennis through the use of the USTA Tennis Programs to increase tennis participation at all levels of play.
 
GRANT CRITERIA
 
1.      All new organizations requesting financial assistance are required to be a not for profit organization and an organizational member in good standing of the USTA at the time of the request and for at least two years after the approval of the grant (a total of three years).
·         Phase one: A grant of $250 will be awarded as start up fees to assist becoming incorported with the State of Ohio,  USTA membership, and like expenses.
·         Phase two: After completing phase one and certification of incorporation and USTA membership is sent to the NEOTA, an additional grant of $750 will be awarded as start up fees for the actual program.
·         Phase three: All organizations receiving grants under phases one and two are to provide written reports on the funded tennis activity. This report must include a complete expense report. It may include photographs or other supplementary information. The NEOTA office must receive this report within three weeks of the completion of grant activity in order for the grant recipient to receive phase three of the grant [not to exceed $1000]. Failure to comply will automatically eliminate an organization receiving the phase three grant and also from any further applications for grants from the NEOTA.

·       Phase one: Applications for grants up to $2000.00 may be submitted with program plans and extimated expenses showing how the grant will be applied. The first half of $1000.00 will be paid to the applicant prior to the program. At the end of the program proof of a successful program and expenses must be submitted in order to receive the second payment of $1000.00.
2.   Decisions to fund grant applicants will be decided by a majority vote of the Grant Management Committee of the Northeastern Ohio Tennis Association.
 
3.   The Grant Management Committee will consider financial need as well as prior grant awards when considering grants.
 
4.   Preference will be given to programs that result in a self-sustaining program after the completion of the grant.
 
5.   All applicants will be notified within three weeks after the deadline of the action taken by the Grant Management Committee.
 
6.  Grant applications may be submitted through out the year however, those near the end of the fiscal year may be postponed until the following fiscal year. NEOTA’s fiscal year is November 1 to October 31.
